What you need:
Cardboard, scissors, 3 colors of felt, 2 craft sticks, plastic foam, round metal lid from a jar, glue, 2 pieces of ribbon 8 inches long, clothespins
1. Trace your hand (with fingers spread apart) onto cardboard. Cut out the hand, trimming the fingers a bit more narrowly. Use the cardboard hand as a pattern to trace and cut two felt hands of two different colors.
2. Glue craft sticks to the bottom of both sides of the cardboard hand. Line up the sticks so that one is on top of the other. Spread glue on one side of the cardboard and place one felt hand on top of the glue. Glue the other felt hand to the other side of the cardboard.
3. Cut two pieces of felt that will fit the bottom (sleeve, part) of the hand Glue sleeve to hands, Clamp felt with clothespins until glue dries. Glue small ovals on the top of each finger to make polished fingernails.
4. Cut a piece of plastic foam (1/2 to 3/4 inches thick) to fit inside the metal lid. Glue the plastic foam in the lid. Cover the lid with felt by cutting two felt circles the same size as the lid and one strip that will fit around the lid. Glue the felt on the lid.
